Internet for Everyone

Vint Cerf, MCI WorldCom (video) with introduction by Eric Travis, Global Science & Technology, Inc., USA

"The Internet is for Everyone", a noble goal for humanity. Vint Cerf, Senior Vice President of MCIWorldCom, and the Internet Society are its strongest advocates. The Internet is growing at a tremendous speed, in terms of global users and enabled devices, which is changing the fundamental structure of international commerce, the media, political institutions and human communication itself. In order for everyone to fully benefit from this revolution, everyone must support the widespread and fair access to its technology and the guiding hand of organizations like the Internet Architecture Board, the Internet Engineering Steering Group, the Internet Research Task Force, the Internet Engineering Task Force and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Everyone is a stakeholder in the development of the Internet. We all must protect its access, its simplicity, the privacy of its users and against the over-legislation of the medium. The Internet IS for everyone but it won't be unless WE make it so.
