High-Speed Access in GigaPort

GigaPort is a joint initiative of the Dutch Government and industry to set up a testbed for advanced Internet infrastructure and applications. The GigaPort network forms the core of the National Research Network in the Netherlands. This presentation focuses on the development of high-speed access to this network during the project, which runs from 1999-2002. Access technologies that are covered in GigaPort pilots include both wired, e.g., ADSL, cable modem technology, fiber-to-the-home, and wireless, e.g. GPRS.
